My sweet, out of control, loving, button-pushing girl

I love this pup so much, but man does she test me, require me to be mindful of my own ability to regulate emotions, push my buttons, bring the worst out of me, bring the best out of me and she will NEVER, EVER let me forget her (even if I wanted to).

She is the kind of dog that from the moment she entered my home she demanded to be noticed.  At times I would definitely call her dominant, but for the most part she just wants to be apart of the action and in the middle of the mix.

She is the pup that barks and whines when she is not getting her way, when I have given her a command that she knows (and I know that she knows because she is too damn smart and slick to not know) but does NOT want to complete the task.  At times she will sit or lay begrudgingly, moaning, and letting out of bark of disgust.

This dog is not easy, I and my family will attest that she is the kind of dog that requires every ounce of patience, especially when you have had a long day.  She is like chasing after a 2 year old, that is faster than you and picks up shoes in their mouth.

She demands to be noticed.

And she lets you know how much she loves you. I have never seen a dog so excited to see someone after they get home from work, or after getting out of the shower, or even after leaving the room for 10 minutes and coming back.  She wags her tail when I baby talk her, or when I walk into a room and she is half asleep.

She is a handful, pain in the butt at times, but would I have it any other way?

The End of Summer - Dog Beach!

I have been super busy with the beginning of my doctorate program, but I have been lucky enough to find some really cool people that own really cool dogs! Even better we have already gone on a few doggy play dates to the dog beach in Albany, CA! Juliet loves playing with her new friends, but since they are both a bit smaller than her she can get a bit too excited.  Her friends Olive and Sasha are pretty tolerant of her though (even though Juliet steps on them accidentally sometimes).

It is such a blessing that Juliet is good off leash (despite random alert barking at strangers - bad pup).  We are still working on the no-pulling concept (she is getting better but it is a slow process).

Here are some pictures that I have taken, along with some that I have stolen from my friend Hannah!

2014 and 7 months old!

My precious girl turned 7 months old on January 3rd.  She is such a funny, energetic, loving girl.  I also refer to her as a "terror" and my "monster" more than half of the time because she has truly been put in my life to teach me patience, understanding and unconditional love.

She passed her AKC puppy STAR in December, and is currently on a hiatus from obedience classes.  I plan on enrolling her in agility and/or obedience class in the next few months to keep her on track and help her learn some fun new skills.

Here are some updated photos of my love.

Juliet met up with her brother Django and another vizsla from the same breeder a couple of weekends ago. She was off leash in a non gated area and did really well with staying close to the "pack"..... We are still working on recall around other dogs, Juliet is very dog motivated

Juliet and Django (5 months old)

This is the second play date between Juliet and her brother Django.
Django is a sweet boy who appears much calmer than Juliet (I was surprised when he followed behind his owner Renal instead of rushing ahead of her like my girl would do).
They play very well together and really tired each other out.
It is so much fun seeing vizzies together because they truly match each other's energy!
